Friends of Drew Barrymore's say that her new boyfriend, Stokes drummer Fabriozi Moretti, popped the question, 'Will you marry me, Drew?" in Manhattan over the Christmas holidays. I'm told Fabrizio gave Drew a three-and-a half karat Bvlgari diamond ring. Of course, Drew said, 'Yes!" They are planning a big wedding, possibly in Italy, as Drew's co-star in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind has offered to throw the couple a fabulous ceremony at his new villa on Lake Cuomo.
To the world, George Clooney is a confirmed bachelor, but he's confided to good buddy Mark Wahlberg that it gets lonely, so George's New Year's Resolution is to find a nice girl to settle down with, even though that may not mean a walk down the aisle.
According
to royal sources in Monaco, Princess Stephanie has been dumped
by her married lover, with three children, Richard Lucas. He
was the major domo, or butler, depending on how you look at it, for
her pops, Prince Ranier. No doubt Lucas was canned on the spot.
Is it back to the circus, for Stephanie? No, New Idea has learned
that Steph is in a full-blown affair with Phillipe Junot, the ex-husband
of her sister, Caroline! Prince Ranier is fuming and fumigating,
having reportedly kicked his daughter out of the Royal Palace, but kept
her kids with him, threatening
J-Lo and Ben Affleck had a blast in Las Vegas recently. At Caesar's Palace Forum Shops, security closed down each store as Lopez and Ben entered, so they could shop in total privacy. By the time they were done, they had spent over $600,000. Then, they made their way to the gambling tables. After winning over $300,000 at the high roller's table, Ben, infamous for being a generous tipper when he wins, went to flip the dealer a $5,000 chip. But J-Lo caught it mid-air, dropped it in her purse, and instead slid over three $100 chips.
Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant's characters in the film Two Weeks Notice are clearly 'Tod's" shoes fanatics. And Sandra, who plays a brilliant lawyer, carrying an assortment of the designer bags, including a computer case and with Hugh's role, as the charming, but self-absorbed boss, having a closet full of 'Tod's" shoes-from loafers to driving booties-neither of the two big stars will have to shell out any of their own dough for pricey footwear during the next year. Ah, the perks of being a star.
Pals are concerned that Renee Zellweger's health may be at risk because of her plummeting weight. At the premiere of Chicago, Zellweger nearly fainted in the bathroom and concerned bystanders wanted to call an ambulance, but the actress' handlers hurried her away, explaining the star was just suffering from 'exhaustion."
Those gorgeous gems Nicole Kidman wore to the New York premiere of The Hours were purchased by her 'friend" Russell Crowe. My spies tell me Russell and Nicole shopped together at Fred Leighton's in the Big Apple. Rumor has it the pricey baubles cost Crowe $100,000. Now, it's not what you think-apparently Russell was paying Nicole back for helping him do all his Christmas shopping. Nic reportedly even helped Russell pick out his galpal Danielle Spencer's engagement ring.
This just in: Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue are back in each other's loving arms. They were spotted at the Hudson Hotel's Library Bar in New York, looking very cozy, canoodling in front of a roaring fireplace, as they sipped Bacardi Limon Midori and lemon juice topped with champagne. Flames of romance were raging there, and I am sure with Rachel Hunter as well, once she reads about it here.
Eyewitnesses say they can't believe two superstars, the likes of Nicole Kidman and Cameron Diaz, could go ice skating at New York City's Rockefeller Center without being recognized, but they did. One super-eagle-eye-star-watcher, spotted them, though. 'How could I not?" the observer told this column. 'I'm a big fan of Nicole's. And, what's more, she is really a terrific ice skater. To me, she skated just as well as Olympic Gold Medalist Sarah Hughes, and Cameron's not too bad on the ice either.
Pierce Brosnan's new wife is said to be a great cook, which explains why the actor had a hard time keeping his weight down during the filming of the recent Bond film. Crew members jokingly started calling the movie 'Diet Another Day," as opposed to Die Another Day, as tailors had to loosen the waistband of Brosnan's trousers.
Woody Harrelson is very picky about his breasts. No, not those of the women he dates, but his OWN. Woody is playing a transvestite hooker in the upcoming comedy Anger Management and he went through nine pairs of fake breasts before he hit upon the ones that were just right. Talk about the height of vanity.
Good pals Jennifer Aniston and Melissa Etheridge are planning to go into business together-and it promises to be quite a fiesta. The girls have real estate agents scouting possible locations for them to open their own Mexican restaurant in the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area. The unlikely couple often hang out together at various 'in" Mexican eateries around town and decided it would be great to have one of their own. Stay tuned.
We all know the weary woes of jet lag, especially travelling during the holidays. Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted at the British Airways Molton Brown Travel Spa at Heathrow Airport in London having a number of nerve stabilizing circulation treatments to relax her achy muscles. She especially was keen on the Yuan Zhi Peacemaker, a soothing essential oil rub down which some believe is better than melatonin to help you sleep comfortably in the air.
I swear this is true...Richard Gere never ever uses curse words, not even when he's in the foulest mood. What's more, neither does his new wife Carey Lowell. Also the actor doesn't allow swearing in their home and if someone lets out a curse word, even by mistake, they're kindly asked to leave the premises.
Will and Grace star Megan Mullally had her female poodle fixed, so imagine her shock when she discovered the dog was pregnant. 'I have no idea who the culprit is or how it happened," Megan told a friend. 'Must have been the immaculate conception doggie-style."
Madonna's daughter Lourdes may be richer than most little girls, but like hordes of others around the world, she wanted what little girls want for Christmas-a pony. The Material Mom kept telling her it wasn't going to happen because ponies are hard to take care of, but when Christmas morning rolled around, there was Lourdes' pretty new pony in the backyard.
Film icon Katharine Hepburn, who'll be 96 this year, was 74 when she won her fourth Oscar for On Golden Pond in 1981, establishing an Academy Award record for wins for actors. It was a record that seemed fairly secure until Jack Nicholson's new movie, About Schmidt, was released to a chorus of critical hosannahs for the thrice-Oscar-anointed, 65-year-old actor. Already a co-winner of the New York Film Critics Circle best actor prize-along with Daniel Day-Lewis for Gangs of New York-Nicholson's march toward his fourth Academy Award win is being bolstered by his nominations for best actor by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards. Other kudos-bestowing organizations, such as the National Board of Review and the Screen Actors Guild among them, can be counted on to also recognize the popular, durable actor. Our prediction: a fourth Oscar for Jack Nicholson.
Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn are considering doing a movie together in which they'd play the same character. In the script, the character ages from 17 to 80, so the two stars hit upon the idea of Kate playing the younger, Goldie the older.
...that's Hollywood Gossip!
